What To Do When Your USB Mouse Stops Working
May 4th
One of the most annoying parts of using a computer over the years has been the mouse. Why? Every mouse has to be plugged into a computer. That is unless you use a USB mouse. With a USB mouse all you do is load the drivers, plug the receiver into your computer, put batteries into the mouse and you’re ready to go. The great thing about using a USB mouse is that you can use them anywhere, especially with laptops.
How To Get Your USB Mouse Working Again
There might be a time when the USB mouse that you’re using stops working. If this happens to you the first thing that you need to do is power down your computer completely and leave it turned off for at least one minute then power it back on. Once your computer is fully powered up and you’re at your desktop the next step is to uninstall your USB mouse drivers. For windows users go to your control panel, click on add/remove programs, scroll through the menu and uninstall the drivers for your mouse.
Once the mouse drivers are uninstalled reboot your computer and then plug in the USB receiver again. Once your computer is fully booted up it should find the new hardware and install the drivers automatically for the mouse.
If The Drivers Don’t Install
If the drivers don’t install automatically you should reinstall the drivers from the disk that came with your USB mouse when you first purchased it. If you don’t have this disk you should use your favorite search engine and type in the USB mouse name plus the word “drivers” and then you will be taken to the manufacturers website where you will be able to download the drivers to your computer. This should solve your problem and get your USB mouse working just as good as before.
